Venue: Phoenix Art Gallery, 10-14 Waterloo
Place, Brighton
videoclub is a showcasing opportunity for artists who are pushing
film, video and moving image practice. videoclub is responding to
the increasing interest in moving image work created by artists,
we are also responding to the limited opportunities available to
see and critically discuss quality moving image work that is artist
based.
videoclub has developed a 10-month long programme over 2006, sourcing art work through open submission, which is then selected and curated by videoclub, culminating in curated screenings across Brighton venues during 2006.
Mick Hartney will be in discussion with the artists after the video screenings. Mick has made video art and installations since 1973, and has exhibited widely in the UK and around the world. He founded the Media Centre at the University of Brighton Faculty of Arts & Communication in 1975, where he still teaches.
