Online distribution is transforming the film industry worldwide.
As methods of exhibiting films shift and evolve through technological developments, traditional business models are being challenged and boundaries blurred, with many questions raised regarding rights, profit participation and protection of ownership.
A must for anyone involved in the film industry wishing to keep up to date with the latest business, legal and technical knowledge regarding online distribution.

Founder of
Lecote Solicitors a niche law firm concentrating on New Media, Internet, IT and commercial matters. Andrew was listed in a 2004 national poll as one of a hundred individuals in the UK who have contributed most to the development of the internet in the last decade. He is the author of six internationally published books, five of which on internet commercial law inlcuding the UK Film Council endorsed ‘
Film and Television Distribution and The Internet – A Legal Guide For The Industry’ published by Gower.
In 1999 he won the national Lawyer Awards for Best Use of Multimedia In The Law.
Tracey Gardiner (Fulcrum TV and Producer of
SURVEILLANCE)
Tracey Gardiner has been a producer at FulcrumTV for the past 15 years, has
made a broad range of factual programmes, many of which have been
co-produced internationally and distributed around the world. She has
produced two feature films, LIKE IT IS and
SURVEILLANCE.
The former was
distributed using the usual methods, but with Surveillance a different
approach was taken, using the latest advances in technology, VoD, and a more
pragmatic approach to the likely financial outcome of different forms of
distribution.
Heather Millard (Film Sales & Distribution, Spier Films - filmmakers of
SON OF MAN, Officially Selected for Sundance 2006 and BFI London Film Festival 2006)
Marie Foulston (Online Co-ordinator,
Soda Pictures)
Marie co-ordinates & implements online promotional campaigns
for Soda titles across established media and stand alone sites.
She handles content encoding and distribution from trailers to full
features.
