Lighthouse is delighted to invite you to the launch of three major visual arts exhibitions opening on Friday 04 May 2012 as part of Brighton Festival. This is a unique opportunity to get a taste of four major pieces of work in one evening, which together make up a large part of the visual arts strand of the Brighton Festival.

Lighthouse is pleased to be supporting acclaimed artist Monica Ross in a live streamed performance of a solo recitation from memory of Act42 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

For the past 12 months, young people from Longhill High School and Brighton Aldridge Community Academy have been working with older residents of Brighton and Hove to create a computer game and a city-based augmented reality app about life on the home front during World War II. The Past Present exhibition showcases historical photographs, archive films and work created by young people, as well as the computer game and augmented reality app, to show how this remarkable project came together.
Lighthouse presents an exciting opportunity for filmmakers to learn about motion capture and explore the creative possibilities this cutting-edge technology offers. Working with Centroid, a leading motion capture and character animation studio, the Lab will provide high-quality craft and technical training, as well as valuable contacts and networking opportunities.
TEDxObserver is an independently organized event licensed by TED. Lighthouse is delighted to be hosting a simulcast of this exciting event, together with a programme of live talks. Jay Rayner, Observer food critic, broadcaster and novelist, will be at Lighthouse to host this stimulating event, which will include talks and performances from anthropologists, actors, neuroscientists, choreographers, environmentalists, artists and more.
