Lighthouse is a leading arts agency in South East England supporting, commissioning and showcasing new work by artists and filmmakers.

Our mission is to enhance the cultural life of Digital Britain, through the creation of inspiring and vibrant programmes which show how important artists and filmmakers are in a changing media landscape. We advocate for digital art and moving image, nationally and internationally. By supporting artists and filmmakers, through commissioning, exhibition and professional development, we show that digital culture is about much more than just technology and tools; it is about ideas, emotion, learning, and aesthetics.

Lighthouse runs the UK's leading mentoring programme for filmmakers - Guiding Lights. Over twelve months film professionals are mentored by some of the biggest names in film. Current mentors include Sam Mendes, Alex Garland, Nick Hornby and Barbara Broccoli. Past mentors have included Danny Boyle, Paul Greengrass, Stephen Frears and Kenneth Branagh.

Lighthouse is also a vibrant venue for events in Brighton. We host our own events, talks, workshops, courses and exhibitions, as well as provide our spaces for commercial hire.
