All the key project roles at Lighthouse are held by people who either have been, or still are, practising artists and filmmakers and who have both the knowledge and experience to provide effective advice, guidance and critical feedback for the people we support.

Honor Harger: Director

Honor is a New Zealand-born curator who has a particular interest in artistic uses of technologies. Prior to joining Lighthouse, Honor was guest curator of transmediale, the international festival of art and digital culture in Berlin. From 2004-2008, she was director of the AV Festival, the UK's largest biennial of electronic art, moving image and music. She commissioned new work by Anthony McCall, Ryoji Ikeda, Chris Watson, Michael Nyman, Marko Peljhan, Marcus Coates, Gina Czarnecki and many others, and programmed exhibitions, concerts, screenings and events involving over 300 artists.
She was the first curator of webcasting for Tate (2000-2003), where she also curated events and concerts on art and technology at Tate Modern. She has also worked for Radio One and Artspace in New Zealand, the Australian Network for Art and Technology in Australia, and as a freelance curator on exhibitions and events around the world. Her artistic practice is produced under the name r a d i o q u a l i a together with collaborator, Adam Hyde. Their work has been exhibited at the ICC in Tokyo, the New Museum of Contemporary Art in New York; Sonar in Barcelona; Ars Electronica in Linz; and other places. One of their main projects is Radio Astronomy, a radio station broadcasting sounds from space.
Honor has lectured widely including at the European Space Agency, the Centre Pompidou in Paris, the National Museum of South Africa, California Institute of the Arts, the University of Westminster and the American Film Institute.

Jamie Wyld: Head of Media Arts

Jamie is a curator and professional in arts development, he has worked as visual arts officer for the Arts Council in London, Yorkshire and the South East, and has supported artists’ development through a number of roles, including as Digital Arts Programmer at Showroom, Sheffield. He has been guest curator at Lovebytes International Digital Arts Festival, and is co-director and founder of moving image platform, videoclub. In his role as Head of Media Arts at Lighthouse, he is responsible for developing the commissioning programme, exhibitions and contextual events, as well as the professional development programme for artists. He is a Fine Art graduate, and has an MA in Arts and Cultural Management from the University of Sussex.

Emily Kyriakides: Head of Film

Emily has worked in the film industry in a number of roles since graduating from Sussex University. Before joining Lighthouse she worked at production company Spice Factory for over five years where she gained extensive experience working closely with the Managing Directors and Head of Business Affairs, accumulating a long list of feature film credits as assistant to the producers. She recently produced her first short film, 'Stubborn & Spite', funded by the UK Film Council and Screen South through the Digital Shorts scheme. Emily is responsible for the management of all Lighthouse's work with filmmakers including Guiding Lights and Write Moves, as well as Cineville, our regular masterclass/networking events.

Becca Ellson: Guiding Lights Coordinator

Becca Ellson joined Lighthouse as Guiding Lights Co-ordinator after 10 years in production and development for film and TV. Her last role on a feature film, before joining Lighthouse, was as Head of Research for BAFTA nominated documentary Taking Liberties. She was also Editor of the book Taking Liberties which was compiled as part of the film’s development and published by Black Spring Press. As Guiding Lights Co-ordinator Becca works part-time to deliver the scheme while also studying for a PhD in Creative and Life Writing at Goldsmiths, University of London. She also works as a reader/development consultant for independent writers and producers, writes her own screenplays and has just completed her first novel.

Miriam Randall: Operations Director

Miriam has many years of Business Management experience gained in arts venues and the hospitality insustry. She joined Lighthouse after a two year management role at the Gardner Arts Centre. She has a strong background in the arts having graduated in Fine Art Painting and studied Arts and Cultural Management at the University of Sussex. She has previously worked as a freelance musician and arranger, playing bass guitar at numerous live events and collaborating on a range of projects and recordings. As the Operations Manager at Lighthouse she is responsible for the smooth running of the venue and the management of events, facilities and visitor services.

Emma Wickham: Operations Coordinator

Emma joined Lighthouse in 2005 as Administrator. Her background is in art and design with a degree in Illustration. Emma is the first point of contact at Lighthouse. A typical day for Emma involves updating the website, preparing e-mailouts, running the short course programme, co-ordinating venue hires and making sure there are enough biscuits to go round!
